OVERVIEW

Discover Vinton County is proud to offer a limited number of mini-grants to support tourism-related businesses and organizations in their efforts to attract visitors, enhance experiences, and contribute to the local tourism economy. These grants may be used for projects such as launching new attractions, repairing or enhancing existing offerings, marketing tourism services, community events, or other initiatives that support tourism in Vinton County.

Applicants must have an organization or business located in Vinton County, and the project must serve tourism in the county.

 

GRANT DETAILS

• Award Amount: Applicant can request up to $3,000.

• Matching Requirement: Applicant will be required to provide a 25 percent match to the awarded grant amount. This match can be made in cash and/or in volunteer hours at the rate of the federal volunteer hourly wage.

• Grant Timeline:

  • ​Application Deadline: July 17, 2026

  • Funding Decisions Announced: August 14, 2026

  • Project Completion Deadline: By July 30, 2027

  • Final Reporting Deadline: By August 16, 2027

• Reporting: Recipients must submit a 300 – 500 word description of their project and how it turned out along with the attached Project Budget Report worksheet by August 16, 2027.​
